My friend is looking at getting his first car and he was hoping someone with a carfax subscription could help us out in the search. If any of you wouldn't mind we would appreciate it.

so attempting to save 35 dollars now is equivalent to not having enough money for a car? if so i hope you never buy items on sale or use coupons because you clearly are poor if you do.

But really, I had a carfax account when I was still doing my search. I let it lapse. I don't think trying to save a few bucks is a bad thing. Spending the money on a Car Fax for a car you may not even buy is just tossing money away.

In my opinion, if you are selling a car, you should provide any prospective buyers with a copy of the Car Fax. If a seller can't provide it, I would walk.

If the owner has nothing to hide, $35 bucks is not a big deal then.
