Black smoke on cold start with judder on idle and on flooring accelerator.

Hello all. Sorry for being cheeky I copy pasted most of this query from my forum post in wrong topic.

I've got a 54 plate Golf GT TDI 140 BHP with BKD engine code.

I'm having problem with judders during idle on occasions but also when flooring accelerator. The problem is intermittent, sometimes flooring accelerator allows car to steadily pick up speed. When it judders in motion the car literally shakes and is quite scary as though the engine might break off! (Okay maybe slight over exaggeration lol).

I checked on VAGCOM and it said one of the glow plugs and I've seen it flag an injector fault (but the latter was only ever the one time).

Cold start is spot on. Although the car starts to 'choke' and judder and black fumes come from the exhaust and appears from the bonnet too! One good rev normally clears this. While it is doing the choking I've looked and the engine appears to rock quite badly but on revving becomes 'seated' and steady.

Warm starts are a pain (usually happens when temperature needle is in centre around 90? The car takes ages to crank and then turn over (I hope that's the correct term) but always does start. If the car is left idle for a while then it starts in one kick without problems and usually the temperature needle is then between 50-80).

Any ideas if this is injectors? Or could this be glow plug (and black smoke due to unburnt fuel from poorly heated injector)? I've changed EGR valve already. Someone mentioned warm start problems might relate to starter motor going and I've already changed coolant temperature sensor which previously flagged error code on VAGCOM but not flagged up since changing.

Others have mentioned coil packs etc... don't have a clue about this (or anything related to cars for that matter). Taken it to several mechanics including supposed VW specialist who have been unable to identify problem. VW just wanted to sell me injector but could not guarantee it will solve problem (well refused to give refund if problems still persisted lol).

Any help much appreciated because the injectors are expensive and would prefer to avoid this until last resort. Spoke to dealership and my car is not covered under warranty for these.

I've used no end of fuel injectors and V Power Nitro diesel to no benefit with only slight improvement in MPG.

Black smoke typically means oil. Could have overfilled during last oil change or topped of to our much do it's burning of fun the excess

Oil level is within normal limits. As I mentioned, black fumes appear only when cold starting or sometimes if I floor accelerator...
