BBS RC 8,5x18 et32

Got them so cheap I just couldn´t resist. They need some refinement(well ok alot) and new tires. But other than that not bent or anything.
Shitty cellphone picture but U might be able to see the state there in...
Might do a refine/build thread later on but first of all I need to ask about fitment.
I´ve seen mkv´s with these wheels but with this offset, what tires should I go with being 1" lowered?
Do I need to go 215/40 or should I be fine with (preferable) 225/40?

Only being lowered 1" won't cause any rubbing with 225/40s I don't think.

There are some really run down 225/40 on right now. Hell, they look like slicks! But I will mount one of them sometime this weekend to see how it fits.

8.5 et32 on a 1" drop and 225 tires sounds like rub..might be fine on a narrow tire like the 452's though.

On our shop R32 with a 1" drop, we already came into rubbing issues on an 8.5 et38 and 225 tires. Granted people have different tolerances as to what they consider rub, by definition 8.5 et32 with 225 tires is not a non-rub fitment.

Damn, it sure pokes alot. So how on earth am I gonna pull this off?:frown:
Rolled fenders, another inch dropped and 215/40´s?
I´d really like to make it work cuz´I think they look just great from the side.
And being lighter than my classics is not a bad thing eather.
Well, well I´m still gonna refine them and maybe sell them later on.
Have to decide on a colour also.
Any sugestions?
I´m thinking bronze, grey or even leaving it silver. Don´t know yet.
Oh, when I said already being 1" dropped. That means euro GT/GTI factory stance just to clarify.:wink:

updates

Well i started getting these wheels to look better. Finnished sanding and wetsanding and first layer of primer. -I know, very uneven on this pic. Just getting started.
Might continue with colouring tomorrow. Just havnt decided on silver or dark grey.
