I installed the AWE boost vent gauge today - everything works perfectly except I haven't done the electrical yet. The website says this is what you should get:
I have everything except for the black wiring harness coiled up next to the two red clips. Instead I have a 4" section of red wire, and a 4" section of black wire. Also there is a short red wire and a short black wire permanently fixed coming out of the back of the gauge.
1. Was the electrical harness replaced with these little wires?
2. Do I need it? Or should I just tap to the light switch electrical - red wire to grey, and black wire to brown? Is there a clean way of doing this? Or is this just me with an x-acto knife stripping back the tiny wires and using electrical tape to splice?
3. What are the red clips for?
The instructions are unclear, especially because they talk about and show that wiring harness in the photos and I don't have it. It would be really nice to light up the gauge...THANKS!
