I've had friends with both a 316 and a 318. These could not be considered a fast car in any way. Your 1.4 must be mighty slow to be considering 'upgrading' to one of these. My old Daihatsu Charade was quicker than the 318 let alone the 316.

p.s yep all RWD except obviously the X3/X5...

According to an older issue of Car magazine:
316 - 10.9 seconds
318 - 10.2 seconds

Wheels magazine also has the 318 at 10.2

316s/318s are slow because they have like 129HP...

And BMW does not make FWD cars...

thats so stupid. a 318 is slightly faster then my car. slightly.. looks like ill be getting the mx5 then!
