Hi all,

Any one know if you can get an aftermarket DSG Oil cooler for DSG based car??

I keep cooking my DSG out on the track and need additional cooling to keep the fluids down.. otherwise everytime i cook the DSG it blinks at me like crazy and goes into limp mode.

on a hot day around a track this can happen after 7-10 laps.

Google has failed to find anything at all.

I'm not sure of what oil is used in the DSG but a auto transmission cooler would be the same thing. Talk to a transmission specialist. Will depend on if it has a pumpm that can be used to circulate the oil already as to whether or not its cheap and easy. If it already has some sort of circulation they can just tap into that and run a cooler, otherwise you need to buy pumps etc.

It would make sense to get a manual, can put up with more abuse and no blinking lights etc.

The S3 does seem too nice but looks like Rob is putting it to the test!

Even if there are much cheaper and faster cars, what if you put it into a wall? Nice cars aren't as cheap over here as the States either, but know what you mean.

I would look and see if the cars that are sold in Africa or the Middle East have any sort of additional cooling for the DSG gearbox, so maybe post in a regional thread in order to find out...

No problem... Also try searching for one on here, I'm pretty sure someone had one custom made for tracking or something. So If you can't find an OEM one, making one with universal aftermarket parts is definitely doable.

i reckon compare cost of installing aftermarket dsg cooler vs cost of a secondhand track car then decide. ask moomoonel (nelson). i think he bought an old civic, stripped it, and modded it and he has done some great lap times.
