ABS/Traction Control Issue

Well, if it was that every time, i'd agree with you. But it started with the ABS issue, and the dealer's diagnosis agreed, so i'm wondering if abs is causing shorts and making other things go bonkers. I'm going to get the module replaced, and see what's next. Going back home in a few days so just ordering things now, didn't want to order something and have it sit there for a month, past the return window.

That's what I was getting at. Not sure if your ABS problem is related to the rest of the electoral problems? I'm sure by VW's perspective they won't be related.

I wonder if 1K0614517BE part will work (with 1K0907379AN module), anyone know? I can't seem to find the difference between it and the BJ. Found the BE one for a good deal.

Edit:
According to this, D,E,J,K are interchangeable (some need a different module though), meaning if it ships tomorrow i may get a working car by end of next week.

New member with old 2009 GTI here. I have the failed module too, used to happen only when driving "spiritedly", now it beeps every time I start the car. Sometimes the steering wheel light comes on and the speedo drops to zero.

Anyway, I plan on trying to repair this myself. I have some mechanical skill and VCDS. I did not see instructions anywhere for getting my "old" number code off of my existing pump? Can anyone enlighten me?

VCDS says I have module 1K0 907 379 AD, and I guess the pump itself (which is probably good) is 1K0 614 517 BD

Anyone have advice for which pump and or module to buy? Mine is 2009 GTI with 6 speed, CCTA engine.

Given the price of new, I'm totally ready to say fuck it and buy something used. Give me a break, almost $1,500 for new pump and module? For a car that's probably worth 9 grand? I'd rather buy 3 or 4 used ones at that price; if they break, fuck it I'll already be a pro at installing a new one. Just need to know what the right part numbers to buy is????

I found this "ETKA" online, may or may not be accurate. If I read this right, the replacement for my shitty 1k0 907 379 AD is....1k0 907 375 AD.

anyone? maybe i should just call a dealer and try to get the part number, even though there's no way i'll buy it from them.

by the way, with www.car-part.com, I can actually select by part number for searching junk yards. I don't know what to pick!!

Newer Mk6 GTI parts work, get the pump and module together used for like $100.

Hello everyone
I'm new here and happy to join the ABS Module problem...
My GTi 2009 has the Module part number 1K0907379AM, I found out this can not be replace the module alone, must be the whole ABS pump/module unit!
I found this from ebay in a reasonable price, cheaper then dealer for sure!
Do you think I can install the 1K0907375AP into it? I think the 1K0907375AP is a better/upgrade version of hill hold; stability ABS unit!

Obviously the ABS doesn't work but does the rest of the car work with your issues? Does it start and drive? Just curious.....

I had another episode this morning although it was in snow. Wondering if I'm on the same path as you are??

Just a thought....you might be able to call VOW and chat with someone there about the differences between part numbers? Could be as simple as manufacturing dates represented by the different letters??? Looks like all the numbers are the same so it has to be something simple?

Yes it does. But it also loses all speed measurement (wheel speed signals go through ABS controller), so the speedo sits at 0. And the EPC light comes on, so it will only rev to 3500. The most interesting problem that has popped up now, is the gas gauge goes all over the place occasionally. Twice it has happened where the ABS warning beeps were going off, and suddenly the gas gauge went to 0 and it said, "Please refuel", even though I had 3/4 tank.

Really annoying...this morning it was beeping constantly and I was still 10 minutes from work. So I just turned up the music!

This is insane. Does ANYONE have any idea of how to find a used part? All these salvage yards A: don't know what they have or B: have conflicting information for what my car takes. Does anyone know how to navigate ETKA?

Get a used mk6 GTI pump assembly. There is an ESP defeat thread with the various module numbers, I will edit with link.
