I was with a friend and wanted to race so he took his GF's Gen. and we took them for a race. I had two passengers in my car and he was by himself. We raced twice and the first and second time I beat him with 3-4 car lengths.

Topical for me - I went for a ride in one last night. They are definitely slow cars, but with a lot of potential if the owners have the cash. I'm not the least bit surprised you beat it (that seems to be the de facto outcome when someone makes this post every week or so).

200 hp, but they are much slower then even a stock GTI. No surprise with the outcome.

^^ RWD loses more power... so factor a 20% loss and it gets a 160hp to wheels give or take. Also I think they are a little heavier to.

^ rwd loses more like 15-17%. Awd is more like 20/21%.

It proly has alot more to do with area under the power graph and weight than peak horsepower.
