What elevation is the track that you ran those times at?

Sea Level, about 70° outside. Low-medium humidity. No wind.

i ran a 14.7 in a 1.8t bone stock, and I've seen 2.0Ts do a 14.4 stock with a lot higher trap speed.

depending on trasmission and drivers skill, many have claimed to run faster stock vs. stock. Tabular data in Road and Track, Automobile, and Car and Driver does not support that claim. A stage 1 GTI with a good driver should beat a "stock" R32, but it depends on driver skill. My car has run a 14.4 with just a drop in air filter, so I'm not stock.

I think your now comparing driver skill and track conditions more than R32 vs GTI.
