All done. :w00t:
Took me and my mate about an hour I suppose. But a bit of that time was spent working out that my jack stands wouldn't fit under the car, and my trolley jack couldn't get the car up high enough for the jack stands ... who'd a thunk that using the OEM jack would be the best job for that.
A few extra pics as well, just for some extra context. Oh, for removing the under bay engine cover I used a T25 torx screw. The first pic, taken looking towards the back of the car, shows the location of the oil filter (left) and sump plug. Second pic, of the sump plug, was taken from the opposite direction to the first pic, looking towards the front of the car. Also included is a close of the oil filter box for the part number. The filter cost me AU$33.30, and just to be extra safe I bought a new sump plug/washer for an extra $4.40 (just as well too as the old sump plug ended up in the drink ... haha!). One pretty cool observation, it's excellent having the torque setting required for tightening the filter housing imprinted on it, certainly saves dicking around checking the manual or whatever!
For the record, the Mobil 1 0W-40 was AU$105 from my local Repco outlet. The handy oil drip tray was abut $12. The 1 1/2" socket and 3/4-1/2" adapter was just over $20 from my local hardware store. Haha, so in comparison to getting my dealer to do this work for me I probably didn't save anything, but the experience was worth the expense I reckon. Next oil change should be a doddle now.
