I beleive he was showing that there are 2 lobes on the cam for the fuel pump, 1 was just fine and one showed some wear and tear.

BTW: what exactly are we looking at inside the hole on your pictures? Are you saying there is something inside there that you replaced? The first pic has some nasty scuffs and the second looks nice and clean. I am a visual guy and I don't think I understand what everything is without getting a better description.

You are looking at the the actual cam. There is no way to fully inspect the cam by just pulling the pump. There are 3 lobes on the cam and the wear spots tend to end up at the lobes peak (point of highest pressure). As you can tell from mine one lobe looked good and another is suspect.

IMO, if your pump seized after running fine for a while, you need to really inspect your follower. Check the inside piston contact area as well as the edges on the outside edges. Get some good picts and post them.
