Great root beer color, are you getting new tires for them?

Nope, using the same ones for this season. Its a tight budget. But they are great for one more summer. Two tires are like new and the other two have some life left.

Pulled the rack and stripped it down:

Roof bars got a light sanding, sticker removal, and cleaning:

Gave the hardware a wash:

And we have color:

Re-assembled:

Laid it on the car for a pic, lots of work to do to the car before it will all work together:

Got my tires mounted:

Did a test fit of the wheels on the car, hadnt actually mounted them before. Im hoping with the springs I can pull them off:

Unfortunately the shop scratched up one wheel while mounting:

So we had the tire removed to sand and re-shoot the wheel. While we were at it, had one of the other tires removed to fix another one that had a light spot in a corner:

Sanded down the plastic center caps:

Spray bombed them with gloss black to suit the wheels better:

Double sided tape for the metal caps:

Back together:

The gloss black looks much better on the wheel:

Starting to feel like Spring in Ontario with + temps finally.
Took advantage and gave the Bunny a wash:

Didn't look this way for long with the snow melting and causing wet roads:

My paint is rough, every panel has dings, scuffs, scratches, chips, etc.
Some new ones from the winter. Got a nasty ding in the passenger side:

And this was my own fault, scratched up the roof a bit:

Also stopped by VW and got the process started to have the rust issues on the front fenders fixed under warranty. Should hear back in a few months, would be nice to have fresh fenders for the summer.

The wheels look great. I like what you did with the roof rack, nice unique touch.

I feel you on the weather, for the past three days I've been driving home with the windows and sunroof open. Had to wear my gloves, hat, and have the heat on full but it was worth it.

Thanks, dont see a lot of color matched racks. Want the whole car to have a dark theme.
Today was awesome, sunroof up and window down all day. Just cant wait until the snow melts and we have dry roads.

Picking these up. Used set of 8380 Tuning coilovers. Comes with a new set of rear springs and perches as the originals started to sag. Should allow me to get low enough to pull off the wheel/tire combo I have.

And a pic of them on a 4-door with similar wheel set up:

Got some work in. First, changed the plugs:

Then got to work on my extra headlights. Into the oven:

Prying. This was a pain. By the second one I got better at judging it. First one I did a lot of prying, stretching the plastic surround a lot. The second I heated more and after I pried up a section I was able to slowly pull the rest apart. Definitely have to keep it hot.

The front off:

Inner separated from the lens:

Taped off the signal section:

Painting:

Done:

Back together:

Old and new:

Pictures don't do it justice to the time involved to get them both done, but I am super happy with it. Will suit the car much better.

Wow good job on the headlights. They look great:thumbsup:

What temp do you recommend for an oven and how long would you leave them in?
