I got the kit today and I know it is probably straight forward, but do I really just screw the replacement tabs into place with provided screws? Any tips?

No, you have to cut out the broken part still attached to the housing to make room for the tab before you screw it in. They work great just did mine recently. These kits are actually an OEM repair kit.

You need to completely remove the headlight assembly and do the work on a bench. I know from experience you can use something as crude a broken hack saw blade to remove the unwanted plastic but a dremel tool is the proper tool for the occasion.

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure how to go about this. I was worried about putting a hole in the housing. But I get it now.

Once you get the housing on the bench and put the tab up there it is pretty obvious what you need to remove. Just try an remove only as much material as necessary. I did mine with a hacksaw blade which wasn't much fun but it was all I had at the time.
