Hello guys,
Just changed my clutch 2 days ago and I can t say i m in love with it. While it is smoother overall, when engaging a gear (pushing it into gear all the way back) i feel like a little wall, which I have to push through...this wasn t happening with the old clutch.
Most annoyingly, if i m at a stoplight (engine/transmission warm) and I press the clutch -wait 1, 2 seconds) and put it into 1st. There s no chance of it engaging gear.
But, if i press the clutch than instantly push it quickly into 1st, it will go right in. It s not the end of the world, but it s very very annoying to me.
The car is a 140k km Golf V Gti - manual 6 speed.
What do you think causes this 1st gear block? Can it be that the clutch is new, and needs to break in? Or maybe gearbox oil?
Thanks!
