Looking to increase offset for wheels in the rear. They stick out a little bit. Ran low profile 215/35/18 tire on it (wheels are 9.5") but it was too skinny, not my liking and thought it's not safe. Want to run Pirelli 225/40 on them but it rubs when going fast and it meets bumpy roads. So I guess maybe increasing the offset to maybe et42~45 will solve it. Problem is that shaving the center hub safe?

maybe camber the rear, i think running a 215/35 would be safer then shaving the hub. try running a 215/40 and camber the rear

You likely aren't going to gain any more than 3mm by shaving the hub. Run max camber and 215/40s.

Ever considered 215/40s but you won't believe me that in this country we only have low profile tyres for various sizes. You have to special order if you want have branded or top quality ones. 215/40 will pretty much solve the problem
