Oh well we now have Russia reneging on what it promised re Ukraine when the West allowed Russia to take all the nuclear weapons which is stored in Ukraine when it was part of USSR.

Much like China reneged on the deal with the UK re Hong Kong when the UK handed back Hong Kong...

Russia laughing at the west as Germany & many others need Russian gas/oil........China laughing at the west as most items are made in China & they have the majority of the worlds processing plants for the toxic chemicals involved in making batteries for electric vehicles.....

No, I know they didn't but they tried & had plans drawn up etc...& they did bomb the sh1t out of us for about nine months on end & destroyed many major ports/cities the length of the U.K...& killed about 43,000 civilians....

It's not for lack of trying that german troops didn't land on British soil. Operation Sea Lion (the invasion of the British Isles) had no chance in hell with the superiority of the British surface fleet. The only possible chance the Germans had for curtailing the threat from the sea was to control the skies (and before I hear this, no, u-boats were meant for targeting merchant shipping not surface fleets. They would get cut to shreds by destroyers). The only way the German could invade the UK was by destroying the RAF near the English channel and using their control of the skies to batter the surface fleet enough to keep them away from landing craft. It wasn't full understood at the time but the later war (particularly the pacific) proves how effective of a strategy that would have been. It really was a collection of fighter pilots flying mostly Hurricanes and Spitfires that stopped a full German invasion.

Regardless of your feelings on Churchill he was absolutely correct when he said never has so much been owed by so many to so few.

They started aerial preparations for Sea Lion. But then they realized they had bigger fish to fry in the east. If not for the Drang nach Osten, the UK didn't stand a chance. But i remember we already discussed this some time ago.

They lost the aerial preparations and pivoted away from sea lion to the strategy of destroying the merchant shipping.

You forget about the diversion of two German divisions down to Yugoslavia that held operation Barbarossa back two weeks. You also forget that Barbarossa was a complete surprise to the Soviets, Stalin was an ally of Germany at that time. In fact when he heard that German troops had crossed the border he didn't believe his own reports. The only time clock set on Barbarossa was one that Hitler imposed. You really think he was so short sighted that he decided to have a two front war rather than just "simply mopping up" the british as you seem to believe would have happened?
