RabbitPlus - My 2009 United Gray MkV Rabbit 2dr S - IT IS FINISHED
Hello VW World,
It is finally finished and I'm ready to post this for all you enthusiasts to see. My youthful dreams have at last been realized...
The second car I ever owned was an '84 Rabbit GTI that I wanted to customize back in the 90's but had no dough. Yet I never lost faith and through the years the desire for a sweetly customized VW never wavered. So at last, I give you...RabbitPlus....
My overall theme for the car was to upgrade it to a really loaded Rabbit/Golf option, if such a thing had been offered from the dealer. I liked the one-color approach of the R32 (also a design inspiration); hence the 10 spoke wheels. The body-color moulding and skirts sweeten the whip up nicely; and the Thunderbunny rear bumper makes it look longer. Really like the Eibach springs as well, nice subtle lowering and improved ride feel and cornering stability.
I didn't do much engine-wise. An intake and an exhaust are more than enough for me, this is a daily driver and I don't plan on ever taking it to a track. The intake and exhaust made a big difference in the fun-to-drive quotient and throttle response. Nice overall sound too.
Also spent a good amount on the interior, the leather upgrade has been one of the best mods I had done. I just wish they could have done the door cards, that t-shirt quality fabric from VW is not my favorite part of the car.
Hope the VW world likes it, please comment/hate/love anything. Just don't tell my wife how much I spent on it!
