all edl does is brake the wheel it feel is losing traction. Only one of the front wheels. For example if you are going around a corner and the inner wheel begins to spin more than the outer, it brakes it a bit to try and equalize.

LSD is a physical, mechanical connection. Basically it transfers power to the wheel that needs it most. That way torque gets to the ground more effectively and for example will get you around corners very fast

There is no contest or discussion on it reall. LSD is WAY better and EDL is a cheap, sad imitation. LSD is the one thing this car really lacks.

Certainly debatable.

LSD does not work as consistenly as an electronic traction control.

EDL duplicates the best part of LDS because if you brake the one front wheel that has no traction, the power is deverted to the wheel that has traction.

With LSD, if one wheel has no traction, making the wheel turn has very little advantage-just flings snow or mud into the air. The other wheel is doing the work.

LSD is only an advantage on good traction surfaces, which means really only an advntage in a racing environment, IMO

EDL is used more as help in bad weather conditions such as snow or slick wet roads. It's not meant to be effective for high speed cornering or racing situations. That's generally was LSD is used for. Just my 2 cents.

well LSD is not, nor is it meant to be, for traction control. They are two completely different things although volkswagen tries to make you think they are the same. Modern cars that have LSD will have a seperate traction control which brakes wheels to regain traction. LSD is about getting the power on the ground even when one tire loses it. And EDL doesnt divert any power. It just brakes. There is no transfer of power, just stealing power from which ever wheel it brakes.
