$899 for the AVC9000,
stock available around mid march..

i think the oem r still a better option, considering the price..
i look that the oem gps are only around $1000 in ebay..

I think he's talking about the HiTV V2000.

Apparently with DVB-T, Bluetooth, iPod, GPS and DVD it's near $3000.

Not that I have that officially.

HI all,

Seems like it's been 2 years since I was last here. Sorry for not updating on my purchase, and this is probably quite outdated now!

Yes, the unit + the DTV all up cost $3k to install. And I must say, I certainly didn't do my homework. I was too bowled over by the OEM look of it - which really appealed to me more than getting something more popular with a dash kit.

My friend who owned a Jetta, bought an eclipse with appropriate dash kit and it didn't look at all crap.

No regrets (ok maybe some). It really has served me well, being able to put on some mobile DTV while on the go, esp with friends in the car. Obviously the DTV doesn't work perfect because of the signal degradation, and probably I should have mounted the antenna outside.

The new H2000 (from hitv) looks way better. And the GPS navigation is now the same as the eclipse, which looks absolutely awesome.

I won't be upgrading my head unit though. Too much expense for a little luxery.

If you're thinking about DVD solutions, like the V2000. Go pioneer. Much more affordable and wayyyyy better.

Tim
