Help with codes and dealership

Hello to Everyone!

I have a 2007 GTI Fahrenheit Edition (FSI engine) at 115k mi
Only mods done so far are a K&N drop in filter and Euro side mirrors.
Also has new coil packs and spark plugs (OEM)

I went in the morning today to quickly move my car out of the driveway so that I could have some room to work on a little project. Car started up fine and moved the car without a hitch. Later in the day, when I got ready to head out for school, the crank took longer than usually, but it started. Car felt a bit funny as it wasn't accelerating as fast as usual, I thought it was just because of the cold. A quarter mile into my drive i get the CEL light. Great. I pullover and check the code on my phone (grabbed them from a bluetooth dongle I have hooked up)

Got codes:
P2181 Cooling System Performance (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/18613/P2181/008577)
P2293 Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276): Mechanical Malfunction (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/18725/P2293/008851)
P2177 Bank 1; System Too Lean off Idle, this code was pulled at dealership(http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/18609/P2177/008567)
P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure: Too Low (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16471/P0087/000135)

The car is very slow when going from about 0-40 mph. It also sputters and surges in the first 5 min of a drive. So, I look up the codes and online on the forums (here and vortex) and find P2293 has been found to come up when the cam follower goes bad AND YES VW has extended warranty on them and subsequent parts damaged by the cam follower.:happyanim::bow:

So I take the car to the dealership to have them check it out and replace the the parts if need be. After 3 hours of waiting I have the service manage tell me the tech found my MAF to be contaminated by my oiled after market filter. Great. He then wrote down it "may need more must start here." They did not check the HPFP or camshaft. They quoted me 486.17 to change the MAF and quoted 2 hours to do it.

Now, after doing some research I find the that was complete utter bs that the service manager has spouted and that K&N ran studies to show that oil filters have not damaged MAF. I also find that its literally takes un-clipping one wire and removing two screws to switch out the MAF. I went ahead and ordered a new MAF from ECS and will be doing it when it comes in. Since the problems they found were not related to the extended warranty I had to pay the 102 diagnostic fee.

The code P2181 I noticed only comes on during the cold weather and goes away in the summer. So I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. There are other forums where people have gotten the same code and replaced different parts with no definitive result.

Any ideas how to get them to look into the actual issue of not being able to accelerate properly? I'm almost absolutely sure that the problem is with the fuel system since it sputters, surges, and takes so long to accelerate. Thank you in advance for your help and input.
