Chrome shield for honeycomb?

Hey guys, I have a (more or less) stock front on my gti. I'm wondering if there is a chrome shield that I can buy to attach to the black painted part of my current shield, and keep the stock honeycomb?

I think this could look really good, perhaps with chrome mirror caps as well, but I don't think I've seen it pulled off before.

The grille + shield combo are attached. Only way to make that happen is to do custom work

Maybe try putting on a mirror finished vinyl on top...just google it you can find a bunch online

The chrome honeycomb on that grille looks horrible. But the shield looks okay...
Also no idea why they would drill holes for a plate from new??

Mirror vinyl could work. Mind you, the finish underneath would need to be absolutely flawless for it to look any good. Any comments on durability of mirror vinyl? Used it before?
