Cam Chain Adjuster

Hi Guys

I am about to do a major service on my gti, timing belt, accessory belt and the cam chain.
Now regarding the cam chain, most DIY's and kits i have seen up for sale only include the chain, tensioner and associated hardware, but leave out the Cam Chain Adjuster (2.0T FSI Cam Chain Adjuster (Mounted on the Cam) 06F109088J )

Is there reason most DIY's and kits leave it out because there is no need? I would think that the sprockets would wear out in line with the chain.

It is pricy.
Would you change it?

It's an expensive part by itself and make sure you have the right bit to break the bot free that holds it to the cam

I had a cam replaced under warranty years back and when it came time for me to replace the tensioner/chain...I discovered that the tech stripped out the head of the bolt when he re-assembled everything.

Long story short, it was a pain in the ass.
