Upgrading Head unit

Ok I am new to the site and the whole VW thing. I purchased the car for my wife but I want to add the VW 6-disk head unit. Can I just buy it and plug it in or do I have to get it reflashed. With my 05 Chevy Colorado, if you were to purchase a upgrade OEM stereo you need to take it to the dealer to get it reflased so that it will recognize the VIN the the ECU is programmed with ($80) :eyebulge: . I'm not too sure on that one.. I would think its not necessary to "reflash" but I don't know for sure.

It's plug and play, you just have to find the unit (make sure it has a radio code to re-enable it). Check eBay.com and eBay.co.uk (UK's eBay) for this unit.
