HELP!!!! airbag warning light MKV GTI

the airbag warning light came on on the GTI tonight, it came on as we were slowing down at a set of lights?

is this common and what is the cause/solution to it, as being sunday i doubt VW service will be open will they?

anyone got anything?

You'll see this is pretty common if you search a few of the other sub-forums...

Just take it to a dealer on Monday. Crisis over.

yeah jsut did a search then and found that.

its the missus car and she is freaking out, as we are meant to go on a cruise tomorz and she dont want to go now.

i told her that everything will still work and it wont go off in ya face or anything like that but still dont belive me.

she is saying its my fault as i was driving at the time.

Mine came on and stayed on for about a month before I managed to get it into service. They replaced the driver's side seat airbag.

The EPC light also came on about 2 weeks before service. They fixed it by replacing the actual ECU.

its all fixed now, was the wiring in the pass seat.

umm actually no as its her car, although at the time the light came on she was sitting there yeah hehehe.
