I have been reading alot about this procedure but have yet to do it. I am preatty convinced from what i have read that this product does work wonders.
What I am not convinced about is how to use it. It is very unclear as every one seems to use it in different ways.

Some people suck it in through the PCV other through boost line.
Which is best and why?

Secondly, what seams to be even less clear is how much to use of it.
How much of the can should be sucked in?
How much of the can should be poured into the crankcase with the oil?
Should it be poured into the gas tank?
The quantities of the above vary from one person to the next...

Lastly, the procedure seems to vary.
Some say it to let it sit for 15 min and change the oil, others say to drive figurously before changing the oil, other say to keep it out of boost below 3,000 RPM.

Can any body clear up where, how much and how to use this stuff?

My car has 84,000KM and i think using seafoam will greatly aid the engine in general.

Thanks

Was wondering most of the same things. One more question I had was can you use another product like BG44k or techron? Just asking cause I have some of those two products.

there is a air temp sensor on your intake manifold.

unplug it, get 1/2 outside diameter transmission line from autozone. get a needle, the kind you fill a basketball with, and put that in the tranny line. that way you will still suck up seafoam but also allow you to idle at -18 hg. put the tranny line into the hole where the temp sensor is, start the car, and suck the sea foam up.

use 1/3 of the can.

only have to change your oil if you dump it in your oil.

it's a very easy easy easy thing to do. very simple. just take your time sucking the sea foam up, let it idle, let it burn. it will be scary when the engine bucks, but that's normal.

p.s. you can buy sea foam at any autozone / advance auto parts, etc.

and when i say use 1/3 of the can, i'm referencing the 16 oz can.

Seafoam rocks! I own a car dealership and put it in all of my older subies. I put half the can in the oil, and half in the gas. It works like 44k for half the price.

How much should be pourred into the oil? if 1/3 is sucked in the manifold?

Should I drive after sucking it in the manifold?
For how long?
Hard drive or soft drive?

What if i pour some in the oil?
Is it safe to go for a drive?
Again how long and hard or soft drive?

let it idle for a few minutes. take your time sucking up the 1/3 of the can.

then drive til it stops spewing white smoke. soft driving.

if you pour sea foam in the oil, pour 1/3 of the can in, drive to get it out, then change your oil immediately as it will thin it. like sea foam -> oil change.

on my old car i used Mopar's combustion chamber cleaner. was an aerosol can that you sprayed directly into the TB. Immediately after emptying the can you just shut off the car for 2 hours to let it soak and clean then go beat the piss out of it and change your oil. I just wonder what kind of affects sea foam would have on any sensors?

I seafoamed my car a while back. Just get a vacuum source, and suck up 1/3 of the can. Turn off the motor and let it sit for 5 minutes. Turn on the motor again. It will struggle and misfire and you will probably have a cel from all the misfires. Once its on, laugh at the PLUMS of thick white smoke coming out of your exhaust. You want to beat the piss out of the car until all the smoke is gone.

If you put seafoam in your oil, put 1/3 can. Do this just before sucking it up with the vacuum line. Once the car is up and running with white smoke, still beat the piss out of it until the smoke is gone. Once the smoke is gone, come home and change the oil immediately.

Staulkor, can you just put seafoam in your oil through the oil cap on the engine? or do you need to also do it through a vaccuum line to be active?
Can I put this stuff through a boost tap?

IF I can just put it in the oil and it will still be affective, I think I might do that instead cause it seems to be the easier way to seafoam

1. You can put it in the engine oil to clean sludge but then you need to drain the oil after running the engine for 10-20 afterwards.
**This method doesn't clean the intake valves.

2. Use your boost tap or other vacuum line to clean the intake valves.
This is the main reason to use Seafoam as it's the intake valves that need the cleaning since no fuel washes them like regular FI engines and they get a lot of deposits.

Here's a rough idea what can happen to your valves if not cleaned or using a catch can.
