Help Broken Lumbar Support

Hey there folks just after some info before I serve VW a rocket.

Has anyone else had the electric lumbar support fail in their car. I have the leather seats (not those nice sporty Recaro ones) and this is the second time the electric lumbar support has failed.

The passenger side is intermitent at best and when I asked VW about this I got a broken english reply of "never happened before, must be you". Now the drivers side has completley failed. I was adjusting it when I heard what sounded like a cog jumping off a motor followed by nothing. Have tried to have a look and a play with it but all I get is electric whiring sound from the motor.

I don't really think that 2 failures = "never happened before" so if anyone else has had this happen or if VW has reported it as a "known fault" like the steering bush it would be great to know
cheers

why are you using them so often.....we set them once....8month ago, wouldn't even know if they are still working

but if they are down, carry your baby to the dealer and have it fixed.....WARRANTY must be good for something, even if it is putting pressure on your dealers nerves

Fuse Blown

Is the fuse blown? I have an issue where the fuse blows often. Brought it in and VW can't diagnose the cause. The curcuit is separate form most of the major electrical. They are ordering a new lumbar motor for the seat. But, I think it is a bigger issue. I have noticed it seems to blow when the AC is on and I am driving. Otherwise it is fine. I could care less about Lumbar support, so I may just tell them to hold off on breaking the entire leather seat apart to fix it, but I am interested if multiple people are having the issue. Could be affecting multiple cars but no one really cares about lumbar. That being said, I hate it when things don't work that should. If it is electrical it could lead to other issues down the line.

Just saw this thread: seems like the same issues. http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79256

I know this thread is old, but my lumbar is messed up too. I can hear the motor moving, and the actual support feels like its trying to move by kind of shaking but doesn't work right. I don't have any blown fuses and I have the leather seats. I just bought the car used with CPO from VW up to 100k so I will most likely be taking it to them. I don't really mess with the lumbar unless I am on longer trips and my back starts to hurt. Any help with this would be great.

hey sorry been a bit (read alot) slack with checking the forums.

no fuse problems, turns out it was the cogs falling of the runners(or something similar if my jinglish is any good)

Got the lumbar supports fixed no problem. took a few days to order the parts and then 1 day to fit.

Just had a 4 week fight with VW in Abu Dhabi to get the mechatronic module fixed. finally done and seems to be performing well.

have ordered my HPC Hawk pads and then i suppose the next job will be an exhaust.
