Hello,

so i did the oil change on my car and when i took out the oil filter it was deformed. It got sucked in together for some reason. What could have happened? Anyone have any ideas? Im thinking i probably tightened up too much? maybe it was just a cheap filter? I used the FRAM oil filter if i remember correctly....

How long did you run that oil?

I presume the center plastic piece is still there and in good shape.

Use the mann-hummel filter. It is the OEM filter.

fram has been good to me from my first car to this car. S'all good
I don't mean to hijack and start an oil filter thread, but I need to at least throw out a warning here. Consumer Reports once rated Fram as the best filter out there based on their tests. As it turns out, the test was to find out which filter resisted clogging the longest. Fram won because it had the least amount of filter material inside. So, it didn't clog because it didn't filter much.

Back to the OP. I'm with Slim. I don't understand how this could happen with that plastic center tube (framework) in place.

Never use a Fram. They are garbage.

Consumer Reports. Not a fan of any of their reports personally.

Curious to see how many miles you had on the oil.
