I'm going to be switching from Honda to VW. I'm tired of Hondas, its time I move over to the People's Car.

It's true, you do return to Deutschland sooner or later.
I sold my trusty '91 Corolla and bought the MkV. My first new car in 20 years. I've had a '65 Mustang, '79 Dodge van, '71 Audi 100LS, '89 VW Fox GL, '79 Dasher wagon, '75 Chevy Luv, '85 Nissan pickup, and still have the family truckster: '96 Mercury Villager. Looking back, I can see that I've owned a lot of crappy cars. :iono:

This is my first golf. Previous car was a suzuki swift GTi which I had for 11 years.

The reason I chose the golf was because it is quite spacious for a small car, and it was better equipped than the other cars I looked at.

i have never owned a VW in my life. I had to sell my truck (nicely euiped, 20s, lowered etc) because it ate way too much gas. I did alot of research and decided on the GTI. I will take possession of my 2007 gti dsg with the 18" huffs and votex body kit late in august...cant wait

Had a Renault Clio (French cars are crap- poor build quality). I learnt to drive in a Golf MKIV. Now i own a Golf there is no way im changing it for anything else unless it's a VW.

I own an Alfa Romeo 147...

I am thinking of the GTI cause of the amazing engine, torque, re-sale value and reliability.

From the last I am having some problems with my Alfa...

Evo IX... Prior that IS350, then Scion XB, then Infiniti FX35, then BMW330i, Benz E350 (still have it), E320, Toyota Matrix, Lex IS300. I've had all those before but by far as an overall everyday, sometimes performance car, this is the best by far. Yah, my wife tells me that I change cars to much. I said really?

Some of the cars I've owned

My history of cars:

94 Toyota Tercel - Had to take an emergency trip to Bend, OR. Fell asleep at wheel, woke up and wrapped her around a tree :frown:

95 Toyotal Tercel - Younger brother now drives this one lol

00 Honda Civic Si - Very fun car, still miss this one, but I traded it in for...

01 Acura Integra Type R - VERY fun car and was quick for what it had in it. Lot of bad attention though.

01 Honda S2000 - Nothing like top down driving on a summer night

and now an 06 MVK GTI. This is the first VW I've ever owned, and it's a very nice change of pace to be inside a car that's quiet, still quick, and a little more civilized. That Type R and S2000 don't even have sound deadening in their interiors lol. The car is just so unassuming as well, so no bad attention anymore, only good from those who know  .
