Thrust washer/main cap upgrade (shared from another forum)

Found this on VW Vortex and didn't see it over here, so thought I'd share. It looks to be a great option for those that trust a local machinist or do it themselves.

With something as seemingly simple as an aftermarket TIP causing all kinda of issues, I'm holding off on modifying thrust washers. Not that I'd be able to do it myself & my mechanic would refuse to do something that hasn't been tested extensively
