stock gti vs cl500

Last night a freind of mine with a cl500 decided to do a couple of runs.
0 to 200 kmh gti by 1 1/2
40-200 knh gti by 2 car lengths
80-220 kmh cl500 by 1 car length

I noticed the gti would pull hard up to 210 then the torqe of the 5 littre v8 takes over.

I see you are using km/hr. Are you in Europe? I am assuming you must have the edition 30 or Pirelli GTI, etc. to do that to a CL500 if your GTI is stock.

I don't think his torque "kicked in". It is the gearing in these cars. We have two overdrive gears. Once you hit 5th gear, it is all over. Nice runs.

According to a few places the CL500 (slushbox) runs a 6.4 second 0-60.

I've seen multiple places online say that a DSG GTI does 0-60 in 6.3

So, according to my paper race it sounds plausible
