The engine came from a Suzuki GSXR-1000 which has a 998.6cc engine or 1.0L. It makes 160bhp which is quite impressive on a bike that weighs 365lbs dry. It apprently still moves well in the smart which weighs more than 4 times that weight.

The smart has standard a 0.7L 3 cylinder in line turbo engine that produces between 50 and 75 HP or a 0.8L 3 cylinder in line turbo diesel engine that produces 41 HP.
