Ok stupid question How do I tell if I have HID lights

Ok so how do I tell what lights (headlights) I have ? I bought the car from Carmax so she is used and I believe to be stock.

I'm pretty sure all Mk5 GTI's came stock with HID headlights...

GTI headlights use projector housings for the HID's. Rabbits have reflector housings for the halogens.

All US SPEC GTIs come with Bi-xenon (HID) lights from factory, unless someone removed them you should have projector style headlights as opposed to traditional reflector style headlights

Wow that was fast thanks.. so do people upgrade their lights? In the old days , ( ok dating myself a bit) I have put Hella lights on my cars.. with brighter lights.. Are there options to do that?

no need to change the headlights on these... they are already the best and have the best beam.

Ok that is what I thought.. I know some people mess with the fog lights I was thinging of going to the silver star bulb .. I believe these have a 9006 bulb.
