love it! i got my sister's boyfriend's pioneer AVH - p6600 flip out screen thingy sat next to me....he was going to sell it but hasnt said anything about it in like 6 months....might fit it to the golf! however, where would i hide the control unit/box?

If u go with pioneer, you will be unable to watch DVD's as u drive, Is this correct? I thought I read somewhere about a built in Gyroscope

Managed to do some modifications to my facia to allow fitment of the Pioneer HU. Tomorrow we'll be fitting the front trim plate to close up the gap. One thing though, I don't have the above mentioned CAN adapter and hence cannot get illumination on the radio.I'll have to source that from the 12V power source in the ashtray.

Ya I thought I heard smoething about that too, But it was something like having to have the parking brake disconnected. It did'nt sound good. I was looking at pioneer too, but its seems like a pain in the ass compared to Eclipse. Maybe somebody knows more than us and will straighten us outVivid said:

I know cos when I installed my bluetooth I noticed it there (had to tap the ignition). Other than that we dont need the CANBUS mainly cos we dont have the steering wheel controls, unless the Pioneer has built in diagnostic software (that would be cool
).BTW, whats up with the VW Club, its down or something...

I hate aftermarket stereos, why change the head unit when its so good and matches with everything inside your car????
