My stupid headlight bulb

Won't come out of the stupid igniter, because my stupid self tried to replace the igniter without removing the bulb and locking ring, and everything came out together. SO, the tabs on the bulb that lock it into the igniter, and the tab openings are blocked by the locking ring. Can't see where the hell anything is.

I've tried rotating the bulb incrementally, hoping that I would hit the tab opening in the igniter so I can pull the fucker out, but I must be missing it every time.

Any suggestions?

I ran into the same thing about two weeks back. For me, at least, I had to gently rotate the bulb until it stops. I did this by gripping the metallic diagonal supports at the base, so as to not damage the igniter. When the bulb stops turning I gently pried out the bulb from the igniter.
