Ma front plate

Is there any way to avoid having a front plate in Ma? I heard somewhere they can issue you a plate and you only have the one on the rear if you say your car doesn't have a front plate mount, I don't know if that's true or not though.

Worst comes to worst, you get a ~$30 fix-it ticket.

I haven't had a front plate on for a few years. Only been up in MA for about a year (NJ requires it too) and I haven't had any issues. I've been pulled over once as well (speeding :yikes and the cop didn't notice.

You'd have to find a really pissed off cop or being doing something pretty dumb to be pulled over while the cop is in front of you.

Take it off leave the screws, plate, and screwdriver in the trunk. Say sorry officer Ill put it on now.

I haven't had one for almost 2yrs up front. Only pulled over once and I told him it fell off and if was on my way to lowes to buy screws. He let me go

Its illegal?? I was reading a list of states the other day that REQUIRE is by law and MA wasn't on it. You guys sure its a law?
