The MK5 GTI needs 162 ft to brake from 70-0 mph. That's even worse.

your kidding... that really sucks... Good distances are below 140 right? with the best distances getting below 120...

According to Road & Track the stopping distance of the GTI is

From 60-0 mph: 120 ft
From 80-0 mph: 211 ft

It was still better then the stopping distances from the Civic Si who braked from 60 in 128 ft and from 80 in 236 ft, and of the MCS who braked from 60 in 122 ft and from 80 in 226 ft.

70-0 in 158ft is fricking awesome guys!! You're used to 60-0 braking. That extra 10 feet makes a big difference. Trust me, I rode in it and he displayed the braking abilities as I tried to put my eyes back in their sockets.

Here's what Car and Driver said about the Dodge SRT4 ACR What's more, the SRT4 offers intergalactically powerful brakes, shedding 70 mph of velocity in 161 feet — supercar territory. If you're beginning to think of the SRT4 as more race car than street car, we wouldn't talk you out of it. So those numbers are exemplary.

Sounds like you had fun!

Too bad I've never even seen an R32 over here in Quebec. Did they ever sell them here, or is it just that no one wanted to buy one? :iono:

Unfortunately, Canada never got the R32s...best we got was the 20th Anniversary Ed.

What:confused:So you think the MKIV R32 is faster than the MKVR32

I have actually not driven a MKIV R32 but MKV has 9 HP more and is probably heavier, so it cant be much of a difference either way. Someone at this forum probably knows better but i dont think the MKV R32 is a "completly different story" as someone said.
