I've had my eye on this or similar.

Interesting the price is cheaper than the NewAge, when I bought my NewAge they were a few hundred lower. If you are not in a hurry Costco does a sale on the NewAge once in a while that will be slightly cheaper than that and have different colors to chose from.

As far as saving the money to build one yourself... I am a wood and metal worker and I would still spend the money on the cabinets.

Yeah my brother in law has the NewAge and it seems like that would be just fine. Been looking at the 2 brands.
I'll probably be buying towards the end of the year once the house is a little closer to completion.
I'm definitely going for a more "finished" look for the garage (drywall, recessed lighting, polished slab, etc.) so I don't think a DIY work bench will fit my aesthetic lol.

I looked at husky, flow wall, and new age when looking at similar systems before. These are the kind of kits that typically don't work for me personally due to the weight capacities of certain parts and the relatively short depth. I tend to keep heavy tools, nails, bolts, paints, and various other things that can add up fast in weight. The "regular duty" just doesn't cut it for some things and then the "pro" level gets too expensive.

If you're going to go with this type of kit, be sure you don't need more than roughly 18" deep and you can fit these weight capacities by 80% or so. The wall cabinets and depth were my main issue, but cabinets were secondary because the shelves have a much lower capacity than the whole cabinet.

Total weight capacities: locker 822 lbs. each, 1-drawer, 2-door base cabinet 650 lbs. each, 2-door base cabinet 622 lbs. each, wall cabinet 100 lbs. each, work surface 500 lbs. each

Otherwise they're pretty decent quality. It's thin steel, but reasonable.

I had a NewAge Bold in my last house, sold it with the house last year. The new one should be completed by August and I will be buying the NewAge Pro, which is 24" instead of the Bold 18". Also, it is built out of 18 ga instead of 24 ga. It's a little more, about 1.5 the price of the bold, but well worth it in amount of extra space and sturdiness.

I want to replace a plastic shelving unit with a locker, problem is I'm looking for something that's 36x24, and most everything is 36x18. That Pro Series locker is exactly what I want.

The $900 price tag however, is not what I want 🤣

I have the previous gen version of one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-5...ood-Top-in-Matte-Black-HOLC5209BB1M/305410517

I measured today because I was curious. Despite that 24.5" depth, the usable drawer space is really more like 22.5". For my larger framing nailer and my Sawzall, it's just barely big enough on the larger drawers.

I think the 24" is a really good call

Agreed, they are a little easier to swallow when you buy the set, especially if you catch the sales. Also, remember as far as I know they give the outside dimensions so the inside may be about 1 - 1.5" smaller.

I browse the website below to see what's new and on sale. You may find something within the dimensions you need at a lower price.

I have a few larger tools that I keep in a large Dewalt rolling plastic tote.
