Hi all,
Unfortunately my grandfather backed his truck into the front of my mk7.5 gti. The only thing really damaged was the grille, which I did not care too much for however now I have a "front assist not available" light that comes on once I start driving. I'm assuming the impact knocked the sensor out of calibration or something because it certainly does not look broken. In fact, randomly the warning light will go away and at times I get that indicator that I am too close to another car on the road (that one image that appears where your trip odometer should be). So I don't believe the sensor itself has completely gone to crap, I could be wrong though. Anyways, I don't want to pay several hundred dollars to get it recalibrated at the dealer. Is there anyway I can reset it with OBD11? Or, anyway to just get rid of the light that appears? Any help is appreciated.
