compression and leakdown test

Anyone ever done one to their mkv ? I want to do this first before assuming that my smoking problem is from leaky turbo seals.

I did! I got 7% lost. Thats mint for a street car.
If i remember correctly, Tolerence is 10% and 15%
is considered to be a problem

^ He right. torelance is 15% from the highest cylinder to the lowest cylinder compression.

Did u do the test yourself? I've never done one myself but know the basic idea of it. What about the leak down test?

They are both pretty easy to do. It may be hard to rule out rings with these tests though. You will need to compare results with and without oil in the cylinder (don't just fill the cylinder).

I've done both tests before and after re-ring jobs and found little or no difference, even though the vehicle stopped consuming oil.

pretty sure if you have the basic idea of it you'd realize its done the same way on pretty much every car. Compression test is pull coils and plugs n hook up. on cylinder leakdown just make sure the cylinder testing is TDC

I did the test myself.

I got 200 psi in cylinders 1,3,4 and 196 psi in cylinder 2.

And i currently have 60k miles on the clock...

I'd call that...SMOOOKIN.....

What size adapter is needed to do this test...10mm 12mm or 14mm?
