The three additional screws fit into the subframe.
The rest of your old screws still suit on their former places again.

What I was wondering about:
Me (and all the other fellows) never hat any issue with rising temperatures.
Don't know what's it about in Arizona at summertime.
On German Auto and Nürburgring oil temperature is still all fine (got oil temp
in my MFD). Seems that the TFSI cooling has lots of headroom.

Thanks for taking the time to write all of that up, I might look into some of this later!

part number 1K0 825 237 P:
is from the MKV R32, just looked it up on ECS Tuning and they want $77,
not bad if you are missing/destroyed your current piece.

Thank you for this info. The German ETKA isn't as exact as I'd wish to.

Wow good info on that underbody cover OEM stuff.

Also I know people are going to hate me for bringing this up...

To get downforce on the front end you need a vented hood. Race cars are sealed off on the bottom, but mass produced cars are bottom breathers. They take air in through the grill and all that hot air is pushed out the bottom of the engine bay. When you seal off the bottom and make it flat that air needs to be vented from the top via a vented hood. It creates quite a bit of downforce. Hood scoops are not helpful because they are pushing more air under the car and creating more drag and lift. That's why race cars these days don't use hood scoops.

Agree.

VW Motorsport did use a bonnet like this (look at Bildon.com).
The 24h-GTI had a completely flat underbottom.

Real downforce is even more important at the rear. To reach this goal
a diffusor and a big wing are needed.
I don't like wings on a street car. To build a diffusor the stock exhaust
has to be removed and even the stock rear arms have to be replaced
by something more sleek.

But it's the only way to overcome the handling wall. Without downforce there is only so much possible grip. But I agree it looks stupid to have a giant wing on the rear of a hatchback, I'd never do it.

So much separation air flow. It's hard to improve aerodynamic on a car with such a bad shape and large surface area. I wonder what the Jetta vs GTI CoD is?

what screws do you use for the three extra holes on the r32 skid plate, is it the same little torx screws used for the other holes?

No, the correct bolts are listed earlier in the thread. I installed that part a while back, fits perfect.

Engine undertray
1K0 825 237 P Noise Insulation £28.84
1K0 825 951 Hex headed bolt (Combi) 89p (need 3 according to above list)

Yes, three metric screws to attach it to the subframe.
Reuse the old screws left and right.

What about this wing ? It doesn't look so bad and I guess it should be better than those ''OEM like but bigger'' (OSIR, Zender...). This one's from Bildon's website !

It was developed by Volkswagen Motorsport, so I'm sure they
tested this kit in the wind tunnel and it will be effective.
If your aren't limited by any rules you can fit it a bit higher
and more rearwards. In the class of the 24h GTI they weren't
allowed to choose another position.
A wing is most effective when more + undistubed air streams
around it.

Yes, I know Bruce. Now, the problems would be as follows :

1) Fitting it further away from the car and higher would require new custom legs. I will first have to order the wing and fabricate new legs starting from the ones they give me on the kit (hopefully they are alluminium and not carbon fibre or plastic and also hopefully they are not one piece with the wing)
2) Don't know if the Carbon/kevlar (CFK) version is worth that much over the carbon/fiberglass (GFK) version. 1370$ over 850$ is quite significand and I suppose the only difference is in weight !
3) Sent an email to Bildon and they didn't reply. I've also read on other forums that they don't answer phone or emails wich makes it impossible to communicate with them before buying a product !
4) Their website is from US but they state somewhere they bring the products from Germany. Hopefully they will send them to me directly from Germany as the transport is very cheap inside EU and there are no taxes + VAT also !

I'd email to Volkswagen Motorsport in Hannover directly.
If they still sell it you'll hopefully save money.
