Was putting in my fender liner (previous owner took them completely out for some reason) and noticed my passenger outer cv boot it ripped right near the clamp on the halfshaft. I've have a popping noise when my wheel changes direction but no noise while actually turning turning or anything just when I turn my steering wheel initially left or right. I am on bags and the car has 106k miles.

I'm unsure whether I should just replace the whole axle or just do the boot since it doesn't really make any noise when turning or give me any other problems.
