Amp Wiring Kit?

So I am trying to piece together everything i need for my sub install. This will be the first stereo work i've done before. I plan on installing the following with my factory HU (premium 7)

-Audiocontrol LC6i
-Alpine PDX-5
-Nik's stealth box

I am going to make a custom harness to tap the speaker wires behind the headunit (as user Technic mentioned in another thread). My question is with regards to the amp wiring:

1.)Is it better to purchase an amp wiring kit or just to piece together everything I need? ie, is it actually cheaper to buy a kit, or do you pay extra for the convenience?

2.) Does anyone have any recommendations for an amp wiring kit brand or where to buy the components?

3.) Lastly, is it really worth it to shell out the extra money for name brand or high quality power cables?

i can vouch for knukonceptz, their products are good at a fair price. kits usually turn out to be cheaper, so if you find a kit that suits your needs, go for it.
