It's incredibly easy to remove the grilles. I just did it this weekend.

Upper grille: Remove two torx screws at top corners. Near top center there are two clips, push them and it lifts right out.

Fog grilles: Pull. They just snap out.

On my Rabbit with no fog lights, the passenger side fog grille has a screw in it, right in the center, directly visible. Why would they stick a screw dead center right in the face of it?

Lower main grille: According to my searches here, it just snaps out like the fog grille.

I have posted a DIY on installing a reversing camera with some tips that let you do it without removing the bumper or cutting anything other than a single hole for the camera in the plastic of the bumper (no metal cut at all).

i dont know if u asking what im thinking but....
there is only one Phillips screw that holds them(on the inside side closest to center grill) Take that off and yank them suckers (grab on the top of the grill).... no rocket science

Look for ANY dp install. I think I did a DIY on a downpipe even. Basically its four bolts at the turbo, and then a slip fitting about 4 feet down where it connects to your catback, and then remove two 02 sensors.
Then to the same in reverse to put the new one in.
You will have to take ott both of those cross braces under the car too, but theyre only 4 bolts each, so that shouldnt kill you either.

i got eibach springs on my 03 gti and it tends to rub on the drivers front axle when i turn to the right and also rubs on the inner fender. so just watch for that so it doesnt happen to you because the axles are cheap to replace.
