which apparently allows the user to create their own censor.

Not sure how you feel about plugins. I run a few forums and I know plugins can be nightmares sometimes, especially during upgrades. This one looks simple enough.. but thats not for me to decide.
Just throwin the option out there. Personally.. I dont really care though

I turn off sigs on every forum that allows the option. When I see sigs, they remind of of advertisements that I have to see over and over between every single post and are a whole mess of wasted space. It's especially annoying when it's a thread with two people arguing back and forth that have sigs longer than their posts.

I leave avatars on as I never read user names, so I need the avatars to keep track of who is who.

I've gotten work where I've had to fix problems caused by outsourcing, so my lack of productivity is offset by the quality of my work.

I personally think most of the sigs and avatars are pretty ghey, so this option works for me. You of course are free to look at all the tasteless avatars, sigs, and other bits of ego stroking that go on in this forum.

As a new user of this forum, I personally don't have any issue with the content of the sigs or avatars. Actually, I find most of them hilarious. And as I have poked around this place a fair bit over the past couple of weeks, I know that this is not a site I can view at work (hence me viewing via Blackberry). But I like the option of filtering some of the content, if need be. Such as, at the office, or if one of my kids is sitting next to me while I check out the forums. They don't need to be seeing t-back thongs. But, hell once they're asleep, I can turn that stuff back on. I think its a good idea. So, thanks.

It's the internet. There's going to be something on it that someone doesn't agree with. Bottom line, if you don't like it, don't view it. If you aren't competent enough to decide what and what isn't appropriate for viewing then you aren't competent enough to drive a car and shouldn't be on here in the first place.
