Agreed lol. I just swapped my summers on (Direzza ZII's) and adjusted my coilovers up front. Still need to bring it down a 1/4", but that's for another day. My God, it's hard to say what impacted the handling the most because I did everything, but it's INSANE. It's funny you mention that the steering wheel comes back to neutral faster. I thought that was my FSB since it's seriously beefy compared to the OEM one, but maybe it's not just that haha. I didn't notice it as much on my winter tires (I store it on the winters; it's not a daily anymore).

Last week eurocars and I did:

LCA bushings
Passat LCA and spindles
Tyrolsport subframe bushings
New OEM balljoints and wheel bearings
PSS coils
H&R 26mm fsb (already have H&R rear)
Strut bearings and 034 strut mounts
MFactory LSD
Motul trans fluid
SS clutch line and all 4 brake lines
New ATE fluid
Dieselgeek short shifter
42DD bracket shifter bushings
Oil change (Motul)

I want Porsche brakes to be next, I can make the brackets at work.

But really the rear is next, I need to do the rear bushings.

But YA. Money well spent.

Haha nice. I'm wanting to do 17z calipers down the road, but for now I'll make due with Carbotech XP8's up front on stock rotors, the SS lines and high temp fluid, Hawk HPS in the back and Tyrolsport caliper bushings. I have to get the front stuff in the near future. Had to take a BFH to the rotor to free it of the hub and messed it up. It's fine for normal driving but not autox and my "normal" driving haha.

If you can swing a diff, do it. Literally transforms the car.

I have very dirty plans for this car as soon as I get a second for a daily. I want it to be a rolling advertisement for my fabrication shop. cage, tube subframe, tube suspension, scratch built mufflers, titanium header, sheet metal work. Even possibly a big engine swap and rear wheel drive?

Definitely. A very direct feel. We had a helluva time adjusting it so 1st and 2nd worked. But we figured it out.

Yeah, I had to call for advice and re-adjust once, but after that it's been GOLD.

Officially started on replacement motor project. Spare motor stripped and ready to go to machine shop for boring and head work. This one will be forged and ready for big turbo.

Going 83mm pistons and larger intake valves. This will be EFR 7163 turbo. Looking for 500+ whp on 91 pump gas plus water meth.

Refurbishing a set of .:R rear brakes, just got the seals in and tracking for the new pistons says they should be here tomorrow. Gotta blast the old blue powdercoat off the calipers and rebuild them.

I want to get a AP racing 330mm 6 piston kit on the front but am thinking of either .:R brakes up there too or a diy 17z kit.

Having run the 17z kit and then going with the R brakes I can say I much prefer the R brakes. Unless you are willing to upgrade to the TTRS master cylinder the displacement of the 17z brakes is just too much. Very soft pedal, till you get to the bottom of the stroke then they REALLY stop. The R brakes have great modulation and feel overall. Plus they work with any spindles (TTRS, Passat, GTI).

I am really leaning towards a 330mm AP racing kit as they will work with 17" wheels

The 17z's should too, for most 17's at least I thought?

Kinda wide, the AP kit has narrow calipers that would probably work with my stock 17" wheels

EDIT: Pretty sure I am going with the .:R front brakes as well. I can get the AP 5570 4 pot front BBK for similar money and its "bling" factor is really tempting. Also the .:R brakes are wicked heavy.

I'm tracking down a lean fuel code, so I replaced the pressure sensor on the high pressure pump last night. Code came back, so all thats left is the high pressure pump.

Will be shopping for mod parts after I'm done with repairs.

What code? If it's a lean code off idle, that could be an intake or exhaust leak, or a fueling issue too.

I hope. I think they should fit under my rse12's.

Found out the AP kit I wanted was unavailable and If I got one parts would be a hassle. Went with a 17z kit and picked up some RB 2-piece rotors.

Got my .:R rear brakes 95% done. New pistons, seals, everything. I have some speedbleeders and OEM bleeder caps to install. The calipers came out much better than the brackets, dunno if they are extra glossy because they still need to cure.

Waiting on my 17z kit to arrive, I want to do those first and follow up with these. Probably going to go with a RB two piece rotor on the rear to match the front.

Topped her up with 93 octane, windshield washer fluid and Rotella T6 motor oil. Ran her through the gears as much as possible- every chance I got.

Put summer wheels and tires on, no more rolling burnouts in 3rd gear.

New 2pc rotors came in for my brake project:
