Manifold Cracked???

That sounds pretty crazy. Actually pretty damn stupid design. It looks like it would seperate partially though. They had to assemble it somehow.

I used to be a DSM guy and the manifolds were right up front with loads of room and easy to swap.

Exhaust manifold and turbine housing are a single casting on all OEM K03 and K04 FSI turbos.

up pipes... good in some situations, but more components that can break. I kinda like the manifold to turbo design.

UPDATE:

Brought the car into the dealership today and upon further inspection we found out that it is not the manifold that is cracked but the flange that connects to the turbo on the downpipe that is warped. There is a noticable gap where the dp would connect to the turbo. The exhaust was professionally installed so install error is out of the question.

Has this happened to anyone else?
