Exhaust/gas fumes in cabin during start

This seems to have come on all of a sudden. Whenever I start the engine I get a strong dose of gas/exhaust fumes inside the car. I'd say it's worse when the engine is cold. Sniffing around the engine bay while running (and warm) I get essentially nothing. Likewise, nothing significant at the exhaust tips while running either. I don't hear anything like an exhaust leak and it otherwise starts and runs fine as best I can tell. No recent work aside from an oil change, with happens to coincide with this starting. I can't imagine how it would be related though. Had the intake valves cleaned, valve cover gasket replaced, and oil filter housing replaced about 10 months ago but this just started 2 months ago.

Exhaust leak... probably seals itself quickly with heat
The only options there are DP gaskets and O2 sensor, right? It's a full stsinless TBE so I can't imagine any holes from corrosion.

Take two rags and cover the exhaust pipe outlets after you have started the car and listen for any leaks.
