MK6 DSG knob/unit on a MK5?

Hi,

I'm new here and used the search button, but couldn't find it. My question is if the DSG shifter unit of a MK6 fits a MK5?
My DSG knob and plastic unit is damaged and I wanted a new one. I like the MK6 design a little better.

Should fit the same, knob is bit of a bitch to get off, use care. I just replaced the base with chrome look "4motion" bezel with leather boot (instead of vinyl). The Audi s3 knob may also fit?

Did you ever get an answer to this question or do the install? My shifter is starting to look like crap and the MK5 shifter is expensive.

These will fit fine. My personal preference is to swap the chrome base for the original but it will work regardless.

My DSG has a side button. I think if you are moving from side to front that I remember reading you need to melt and twist some bits for this to work unless you have a gti
