Last night my 2009 GTI with GSD had a weird non-starting issue. One of my key fobs has a sticky panic button and it set off the alarm after I started the car. I turned the car off and hit the panic button to kill the alarm, and tried to restart the car. No crank, no start, no nothing.
All the dash lights come on, radio works, fan works, etc., but no crank and no click at all from the starter. I tried jumping the battery in case it was low, and I also tried disconnecting the battery and leaving it overnight, still no crank.
I suspect something to do with anti-theft system, but the immobilizer light is not coming on, and it's not even trying to crank.
Any ideas?
