Cooling hose retaining clip

I can’t for the life of me find the retaining clip that goes around the coolant temp sensor housing to the thermostat. 7D61F341-7587-4F43-BFCA-A037F2872832.jpeg here’s a photo of the clip circled in red for reference. All I’ve found is this clip https://www.urotuning.com/products/1j0121142?variant=8391950499895 part #1J0121142 but nowhere does it say it fits an FSI bpy. Need this clip to get my car back on the road, it’s pretty frustrating when searching yields no results. All help is much appreciated! Last resort is to buy a few clips and find one that fits

All the retaining springs of that type that I see used in the FSI are the 32mm 1J0121142 confirm with dealer

Thanks, I really thought so too, but online suppliers not listing it for many fsi’s made me second guess. I don’t have a dealership in the town I’m currently in though I managed to find a vw specialist shop and picked up a retaining spring that seems like it’ll fit. Just gotta get to the hose now haha

Got the retaining clip on, fits perfectly. I’m pretty confident that’s the right part number, mine looks exactly like that size. Apologies for the semi pointless thread haha

No not pointless. Looking at various parts diagrams for some reason they do not show a retainer/clip as a separate part for that particular hose fitting, making one believe they need to purchase the whole hose piece.

I just did the head job, timing belt, water pump, and oil filter housing job on my Mkv. Myself. Saved over a gran$$. But the worse thing encountered was the clips and electrical snapins are very brittle with time..

Good stuff! After doing similar work recently I can agree it’s no simple task. I’m sure all that plastic gets brittle from heating up and cooling down so much, makes you feel like a surgeon trying not to crack those snapins.

Yup for sure.. Tight areas in those cars are plenty.. A few snapped clips but oh well nothing broken, they all still connect. To replace those you practically have to replace the whole wire hareness and that would be a nightmare. But after all. My car runs great. Will change the coils soon, send the cpu to be tuned by ECS, just added a rear camber to avoid annoying inner tire wear. Want to a Euro type air filter kit instead of a bolt on filter system. Lots to do, and now with the engine practically flawless I'm in the little by little mode.

No need to replace wiring harness just for connectors that are broken or splice new or used connectors with pigtails, just de pin and install new or used replacement connector. Look through the electrical section https://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showpost.php?p=150603&postcount=1 and find what you need, of course you should confirm with dealer as number do change with the years.
